Vindara Health in Arizona
Care built for these conditions, wherever you live.
Heat matters in Arizona. Heat intolerance is one of the most common features of dysautonomia and MCAS, and for many patients a summer trip across Phoenix or Tucson is enough to worsen symptoms for days. Every Vindara Health visit is by secure video, so getting care doesn't depend on the weather.
That's true wherever you live in the state — Phoenix, Tucson, Flagstaff, Yuma, or anywhere in between — and between visits your care team is reachable by message.
Many patients also arrive in Arizona with years of records from clinicians in other states. That's where our care starts: your clinician reviews everything you share — records, labs, and treatments — before your first visit.
What we treat in Arizona
Conditions we care for.
Many patients arrive with several overlapping conditions — or no confirmed diagnosis at all. Both are normal here.
Our approach
Complex illness rarely comes from a single system.
Many people reach us after years of appointments, normal test results, and specialists focused on only one piece of the puzzle.
We identify the interacting systems contributing to symptoms and treat them systematically.

Care built specifically for complex illness.
-
A dedicated complex-illness specialist
Work one-to-one with a clinician specially trained in your illness, who sees you every month and stays reachable between visits. You should never have to explain POTS, MCAS, PEM, dysautonomia, or Long COVID.
-
A full review before treatment begins
We review the records, notes, labs, medications, timelines, and summaries you share so your clinician can start with the full picture.
-
Testing that goes beyond the basics
When indicated, we order deep investigations — often hundreds of biomarkers across the systems involved in your illness — to build a real picture of your physiology and surface what shorter, standard workups so often miss.
-
The latest treatment approaches
Your clinician can prescribe and manage the latest evidence-informed treatments and protocols for complex illness — including off-label options where clinically appropriate — and adjust them as we learn how your body responds.
-
Care that evolves with you
We continually refine and adjust your plan based on how you're responding — what's helping, what isn't, and what to try next — so your care keeps pace with your illness instead of staying static.
-
Continuous support from our whole team
Behind the scenes, our team reviews your case and thinks deeply about what's next. Between visits we're here for your questions, to help you work through your plan, and for any problems that come up — with Vera, our AI assistant, on hand for day-to-day questions.
Chief Medical Officer
Co-founded by Dr. David Kaufman.
Dr. Kaufman is a leading ME/CFS and complex illness specialist and Medical Director at the Center for Complex Diseases. As Chief Medical Officer, he is closely involved in care day to day — supervising and mentoring our clinicians, and joining case rounds to talk through the most complex cases with the team — while setting the clinical strategy, training, and standards the whole team works to.
When you join Vindara Health, you get the benefit of our whole team working together to move your care forward.

Beyond your visits
Care should not end when the appointment does.
Your illness doesn't stop when the appointment ends — so neither do we. Between visits, you're never left to manage it on your own.
Your clinician is there for the medical questions. Vera, our always-on assistant, helps with the day-to-day — understanding your plan, your medications, and your results. And Paddy, Barry, and the team are there for everything else.
Paddy
BarryReach us whenever you need us.
Paddy and Barry are here for the non-medical side — practical help when something's tripping you up, a place to share feedback, or just to say hi. Paddy lives with complex illness himself, so he knows how much it matters.
Who we are
We're patient-led, co-founded with Dr. David Kaufman, and built with continuous feedback from the patient community.

From our community
Shaped by the people we serve.
“It has truly been a pleasure to work with Paddy and his team, providing feedback as a patient with lived experience, on the development of Vindara Health. I am continually impressed with their commitment to making a meaningful difference for people living with complex chronic health issues who are not adequately served within the traditional medical system. This team is the real deal! Led by some of the world's leading experts on Long Covid and ME/CFS, patients can feel confident that they will get the best care in the world, literally!”
“I've seen first-hand the care and depth of research that has gone into building this service, with real attention paid to the lived experience of people with Long COVID. It's clear the work has been shaped patiently and thoughtfully, with the needs of patients kept front and centre at every step.”
FAQ
Care in Arizona, answered.
Is Vindara Health available everywhere in Arizona?
Yes. Visits happen by secure video, so we care for patients across the whole state — the Phoenix and Tucson metros, northern Arizona, and rural communities alike. If you live in Arizona, you can join.
I moved to Arizona with years of records from other doctors. Can you use them?
Yes — that's how our care starts. You share your records, labs, medication history, and timelines, and your clinician reviews them in depth before your first visit, so you don't start from scratch.
Can Vindara Health order labs and prescribe medications in Arizona?
Yes. When clinically appropriate, our clinicians order labs through national and specialty laboratories with locations across Arizona, and can prescribe and manage medications, including off-label treatments where appropriate. We do not prescribe controlled substances at this time.
How much does it cost, and do you take insurance in Arizona?
Membership is $400 per month. We don't bill insurance directly yet, but we provide superbills you can submit to your insurer for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Labs and medications are billed separately, often through your insurance.
Do I need a formal diagnosis?
No. Many patients come to us with symptoms, partial diagnoses, or years of unclear answers.
Your clinician will review your history and help decide what to investigate next.
Can you bill Medicare or Medicaid?
Not at this time — Vindara Health is not currently able to bill any services through Medicare or Medicaid.
If you have Medicare, you may still be able to work with a Vindara Health clinician on a self-pay basis where the clinician has opted out of Medicare. If you are not sure how this applies to you, reach out and we will help you understand your options.
Is Vindara Health a replacement for my primary care doctor?
No. Vindara Health focuses on complex chronic illness care. You should continue working with your primary care doctor for general medical needs, preventive care, urgent issues, and emergencies.
Is Vindara Health emergency care?
No. Vindara Health does not provide emergency care. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call emergency services or go to the nearest emergency department.
Does Vindara Health use AI?
Yes. AI is a core part of how Vindara Health delivers more comprehensive, continuous care at a lower cost than many traditional complex-illness clinics.
AI does not replace your clinician. It does not make clinical decisions. Your care is guided by your clinician and care team.
Our clinicians use AI tools to help organize records, notes, labs, medications, timelines, and patient history into a clearer clinical picture. Vera, our AI assistant, also helps patients understand their plan, medications, lab results, next steps, and common questions between visits.
AI gives your care team better tools to review complex information, support you between visits, and keep care moving.
Your health information is kept private and secure. We handle your data in line with HIPAA, and the tools we use to organize and support your care follow the same privacy and security standards.
Because AI is an important part of how Vindara Health works, our care model may not be the right fit if you are uncomfortable with AI being used to help organize and support your care.
