Patient-led
We built the clinic we wished had existed.
Vindara Health was started by a patient and shaped by hundreds more, guided by specialists who treat complex illness for a living. The people who live with it aren't an afterthought here. They're why it exists.
Why we built it
It started because the care didn't exist.
Our co-founder, Paddy, has lived with Long COVID since 2020. Like a lot of people with complex illness, he spent years being dismissed — watching normal lab results get used as a reason to stop looking — and became his own researcher, advocate, and care manager just to keep going.
By 2023, still deeply unwell, he started speaking with others in the community about what they were up against. The same things came up again and again: no access to informed care, being dismissed, tests that came back normal, and clinicians who didn't understand their conditions.
It was obvious there was a massive, unmet problem. Around then, Paddy and Dr. David Kaufman — a leading clinician in complex illness — connected and found they believed in the same thing: that there had to be a better way to care for these patients.
In 2025, Barry joined and things took off. They first built an educational app so patients could share what was working. But people were still stuck — even with the right information, they couldn't find clinicians who would order the tests and prescribe the treatments they needed.
So they decided to build it themselves. That was the beginning of Vindara Health — a clinic shaped by the people who live with complex illness, and guided by the specialists who treat it.
Our mission
We put the patient first, always — and we're on a mission to change how care for these conditions is delivered.
We've built a new technology platform, a clinical model, and a training program, and we're growing the clinical network to deliver this kind of care at scale. Our goal is to change how care is delivered for the millions of people living with complex illness. Over time, we plan to advocate for change and contribute meaningfully to research — pushing the science forward for these conditions.
Our commitments
The Vindara Health Promise.
- 01
We believe you
We start from the assumption that your symptoms are real, even when the basic labs came back normal. You shouldn't have to fight to be taken seriously.
- 02
Real time to think it through
Complex illness can't be understood in fifteen minutes. Your clinician reads your case before you meet and stays long enough to actually think it through.
- 03
The same team, every time
No starting over with a new face every visit. Care that remembers your history, because continuity is where the hard cases get solved.
- 04
Plain answers, always
Plain answers about what we're testing, why, and what comes next. No jargon used to keep you at arm's length.
How it stays honest
Patients keep us grounded.
-
Founded by a patient
Our CEO, Paddy Monahan, has lived with Long COVID since 2020. Vindara Health is the clinic he wished had existed: medically serious, specialist-guided, and built around the reality of complex illness.
-
Shaped by hundreds of conversations
Before building Vindara Health, we spoke with hundreds of patients about where care fails them: short visits, normal basic labs, lack of clinician expertise, poor coordination, and the burden of figuring out the next step alone.
-
Kept honest by patients
Our patient advisory board gives ongoing feedback on how we work, so clinical and product decisions stay grounded in real experience, not assumptions.
Who we are
We're patient-led, co-founded with Dr. David Kaufman, and built with continuous feedback from the patient community.
Guided by specialists
Lived experience, held to a clinical standard.
Being patient-led doesn't mean going it alone. Vindara Health is co-founded with Dr. David Kaufman, our Chief Medical Officer and a leading clinician in complex illness. He sets the clinical strategy, trains the team, and oversees care — so his model shapes how our clinicians think about overlapping conditions, multi-system drivers, testing, and care over time. The empathy is matched by real expertise.
