Vindara Health is open
Vindara Health is open and accepting patients in Washington, Arizona, Colorado and Utah.
We are a virtual specialist clinic for people living with Long COVID, ME/CFS, POTS and dysautonomia, MCAS, Lyme and other tick-borne illnesses, hypermobility and hEDS, and related complex chronic conditions.
Our mission is to make specialist care available to every person living with a complex illness.
For too long, people with complex chronic illnesses have been left to manage these conditions largely on their own, becoming their own care managers, researchers and advocates while seriously unwell.
The expertise exists, but it is concentrated among far too few clinicians relative to the amount of individuals seeking care, and therefore not easily accessible to the vast majority.
This work also takes time. To comprehensively evaluate each person, clinicians need the time to review years of medical history, large volumes of records and testing, understand how multiple conditions may be interacting, communicate between visits, trial new approaches, and carefully adjust treatments over time.
The result is long waitlists, high costs, and millions of patients who still cannot access informed specialist care.
A new model, designed around the problem
At Vindara Health, we are building a new model designed to address these exact challenges.
We are creating a network of clinicians who are trained, mentored, and supervised by some of the most experienced specialists working in the complex, chronic illness space. This care is further supported by technology designed specifically for complicated, ongoing healthcare management.
David Kaufman, MDOur co-founder and Chief Medical Officer, Dr. David Kaufman, sets our clinical direction and leads the training, mentorship, and supervision of our clinical team. Dr. Kaufman has spent decades caring for patients with difficult and poorly understood conditions, including more than a decade specializing in ME/CFS, POTS, MCAS and related infection-associated chronic illnesses.
Brayden Yellman, MDDr. Brayden Yellman has joined Vindara Health after more than a decade treating complex chronic illness, including serving as Medical Director of the Bateman Horne Center.
Victoria TowersVictoria Towers, a nurse practitioner whose PhD work focused on virtual care delivery, has helped develop our care platform, clinician training program, and research initiatives alongside Dr. Kaufman while completing intensive mentorship.
Our clinicians are not trained to follow one fixed philosophy or protocol. They combine the best available scientific evidence, established clinical guidance, the latest research, and the accumulated experience of specialists who have spent years doing this work.
Each patient works with a dedicated complex-illness clinician who reviews their full history, investigates the mechanisms and treatable problems that may be contributing to their illness, and builds a plan that can be continually refined over time.
Paddy MonahanVindara Health was also founded by a patient. Our co-founder and CEO, Paddy Monahan, developed Long COVID in 2020 and experienced firsthand how difficult it was to find clinicians who understood these illnesses and how much of the burden was placed back on patients.
Barry Rafferty-LynamOur co-founder and Chief Technology Officer, Barry Rafferty-Lynam, has spent more than a decade building healthcare technology and is leading the development of systems that help clinicians make sense of complex cases, coordinate care, and spend more of their time caring for patients.
Bigger than one clinic
Our ambition is bigger than one clinic, and we know Vindara Health is only one part of a much wider effort. Patient advocates, research organizations, clinicians, and community groups have spent years advancing the science, supporting patients, and pushing these illnesses into public view. We are already working with others in the field and intend to collaborate extensively as we build.
Making this care widely available will require more trained clinicians, better systems for supporting them, and more research into the biology underpinning these illnesses. Vindara Health is building the education, clinical infrastructure, and technology needed to help make that possible.
Vindara Health currently costs $400 per month, and promises comprehensive monthly visits with your dedicated clinician in this arrangement.
We understand that despite our best efforts to keep our service prices affordable, this current pricing model may still be out of reach for many people. Though we are beginning with a self-pay model in order to provide the extensive preparation, longer appointments, and ongoing clinical support that exceptional and innovative care for complex chronic illness requires, over time, we intend to use technology and improvements in care delivery to reduce costs, introduce lower-cost options, and build the evidence needed to work with insurers and healthcare systems.
