About the role

Vindara Health is a clinician-led telehealth practice for people with complex, multi-system chronic illness — Long COVID, ME/CFS, POTS and dysautonomia, and MCAS. Our care is led by our co-founder and Chief Medical Officer, David Kaufman, MD, one of the most experienced clinicians in this field anywhere.

We're looking for smart, intellectually curious nurse practitioners with an interest in this space who want to dive in. You're self-motivated, and you care about our mission and about helping our patient community.

In return, you'll get extensive training, access to our internal training platform, and mentorship and supervision from Dr. Kaufman and Victoria Towers, PhD, DNP, along with regular case rounds with the clinical team.

Training and support

  • Extensive trainingYou'll get extensive training when you join, and continual education with the team after that.
  • Our training platformAccess to our own bespoke internal training platform.
  • Mentorship and supervisionFrom Dr. David Kaufman, our Chief Medical Officer, and Victoria Towers, PhD, DNP, our Clinical Product Lead and a practising nurse practitioner.
  • Case roundsRegular case rounds with the clinical team.

What you'll do

  • Care for your own panel of patients with complex chronic illness over the long term
  • Deliver 45-minute telehealth visits with time to actually listen and investigate
  • Bring your complex cases to case rounds with Dr. Kaufman and the clinical team
  • Help shape our clinical protocols as the team grows
  • Give feedback on our clinical platform

Role details

  • Full-time, W-2, 100% remote within the United States
  • Salaried, so your pay isn't tied to how many patients you see
  • Licensure in our active states (Colorado, Washington, Arizona, and Utah) handled and paid for by us
  • No on-call

What we're looking for

  • CertificationCurrent AANP or ANCC board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP), or Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP).
  • EducationDNP or MSN from an accredited school of nursing.
  • LicensureAn active, unrestricted APRN license in at least one US state, and willingness to obtain licensure in our active states — we handle the process and cover the cost.
  • Clinical experienceYou've worked in primary care or internal medicine, and you're used to working autonomously. You don't need experience with the specific conditions we treat.
  • Curious and self-motivatedYou like working things out, you keep learning on your own, and you take ownership of your patients and your own development.
  • A genuine interest in our missionYou care about people with complex chronic illness and want to help our patient community. That might come from clinical work, research, advocacy, or your own experience as a patient or caregiver. Tell us about it in your application. It's the main thing we look at.
  • Comfortable with technologyOur clinic runs on software we build ourselves, and you'll help shape it.
  • WarmthThese patients have usually been dismissed elsewhere. You listen, and you take them seriously.

Nice to have

  • Clinical exposure to Long COVID, ME/CFS, POTS, MCAS, dysautonomia, EDS, or tick-borne infections
  • Telehealth experience
  • Personal lived experience with one of the conditions we treat, as a patient or a caregiver

You'll thrive here if you

What matters most: you're smart, intellectually curious and self-motivated, and you care about this patient community. You want to dig into this area of medicine, and you ask for help when you need it.

  • Are interested in complex chronic illness and want to dive into it
  • Are drawn to the patients other clinics turn away, and frustrated by how they're treated in conventional care
  • Ask questions early and often, and want somewhere your questions are taken seriously
  • Are curious and comfortable with new technology — you'd rather shape the tools than fight them
  • Want to grow with a small team that listens to you

This might not be for you if you

  • Want an established playbook for every case. This area of medicine doesn't have one yet
  • Prefer to work through problems alone rather than talk them through with the team
  • Are looking for a large clinical department around you from day one — it's a small team that's growing
  • Don't like ambiguity — we're early-stage, and priorities shift
